Advent begins four Sunday's before Christmas and ends on Christmas Eve. "Advent" means coming. Advent is a season of waiting, preparation, and expectation of God's arrival. Together we hold in tension Christ's first coming with the anticipation of His final coming "in power and glory." This season of waiting confronts darkness, death and our need for Christ's return while stretching our imaginations and hearts toward the acknowledgment that in the incarnation, even in our waiting, God is with us.
Here are the ways we are observing this special season as Redemption Church:
“WAITING IS VIGILANCE PLUS EXPECTATION;
IT IS WIDE AWAKE TO GOD.”
Presented by Redemption Creative, Songs of Waiting is an Advent special that makes space for us to invite meaningful reflection into our daily lives. Watch it while decorating the tree or perhaps on the couch with a journal in hand to reflect on whatever may come up. However you choose to engage with this special, we hope it is a gift to you this Advent.
Coming Friday November 28th
“THERE IS A SENSE OF CRISIS AT THIS TIME OF YEAR BECAUSE THE COMING OF JESUS CALLS EVERY MORTAL ARRANGEMENT INTO QUESTION.”
Our advent gatherings invite us to wait for the coming of the light. These unique gatherings involve music, art, and the spoken word to draw us into what Advent has to share with us. We invite absolutely anyone to join us. Our kids and Youth will also observe the season in their own age appropriate ways.

December 24
5:00 p.m.
Advent begins in the dark but leads to the light. Our Christmas-Eve candlelight gathering is sacred, simple, and meaningful. We will join our voices for carols and readings and witness the wonder of our space becoming illuminated by candlelight . This gathering is for everyone - kids and youth are warmly and enthusiastically invited to join in. We will have hot chocolate for all and Christmas goodie bags for the kids - who will design their own ornaments to bring to our Christmas trees. This gathering is a highlight of our year and we cannot wait for you to join us.
“AT THIS CHRISTMAS WHEN CHRIST COMES, WILL HE FIND A WARM HEART? MARK THE SEASON OF ADVENT BY LOVING AND SERVING THE OTHERS WITH GOD’S OWN LOVE AND CONCERN.”
